It can be a blur. Memories of those early days will fade, so you’ll be forever grateful to have this time captured forever.

As a newborn photographer in Hobart, my style is natural, simple and personalised to suit you. I want my images to stand the test of time and bring you as much joy today as they do in 10 years’ time.

Any parent knows that babies change so quickly, and while you might want time to stand still, it never does. Whether you’re first-time parents or going back for a second or third, you’ll never regret capturing this precious time.

My Hobart newborn photography sessions are held in the comfort and convivence of your own home. This is a wonderful way to capture those early days of newborn life and and can include your whole family to capture every bond and connection.

The best time to book is during your second trimester to ensure I’m available around your baby’s due date.

What does this experience look like and what makes it unique? Let’s take a peek…

A $150 session fee is required to secure your booking. You don’t need to pay anything else until you’ve seen your images and absolutely love them! Interested in booking a combined maternity and newborn package? Please reach out for more information and a special Bump to Bub offer!

Once your session is confirmed, we’ll arrange a time to catch up for a Planning Appointment to select a location, discuss wardrobe choices and work out where in your home you plan to display your artwork.

Within 72 hours of your photoshoot, your best images will be viewable via an online gallery. From here you will select your favourite images and choose and pay for your preferred collection and/or heirloom artwork.

Single wall artwork starts at $595 and wall art collections from $1,295. My popular Print and Digital Collections start at $495 for 5 high resolution digital files.

Newborn sessions are traditionally held between 1 - 4 weeks, however there is never a bad time, so it really comes down to what you and your family feel comfortable with.

I usually recommend booking in your session during your second trimester to secure your spot.

Depending on when you’d like your newborn session held, we use your due date to pencil in a session - I then check in 1-2 weeks before your session to make sure bub arrived on time.

As a newborn photographer in Hobart, I look after everything from planning your session and providing a relaxed and enjoyable portrait experience, to organising your artwork and delivering it to your door!

Family sessions are $150 and there is no minimum spend (Please note, session fees do not include digital files, prints, product or packages).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Newborn sessions are traditionally held between 1 - 4 weeks, however there is never a bad time, so it really comes down to what you and your family feel comfortable with.

  • Everyone - this is a chance to document the love and connection of your new expanded family! Capturing photos of your beautiful new baby is a priority, but I think it’s also important to include older siblings and fur babies.

  • Most newborn sessions are held in home, especially if bub is under 6 months old and it’s during the colder months.

    If the session is to take place in your home, together we can select a couple of rooms that have nice large windows and plenty of natural light.

    If you’d prefer an outdoor session, I have a number of favourite spots that vary in style and location, and I work with you to select someone that resonates with you.

    If you have a special spot in mind, I will always try to accommodate that and am happy to travel (additional travel expenses may apply).

  • Outdoor sessions are typically held in the hour before sunrise or sunset. During this time the light is softer, more flattering and has a golden glow - hence the name ‘golden hour’. Obviously this time changes from season to season and over the Summer months this can mean an earlier or later start time.

    In home sessions are usually held mid-morning, but I will work around you and baby’s schedule.

  • Of course - there’s never a bad time to capture gorgeous of your baby! I have limited spots available but will work with you to find a suitable time!

  • Once your booking is confirmed, you will be given access to the Client Section. Here you will find helpful information on how to prepare for your session and wardrobe / styling recommendations.

    If you need a new outfit, but don’t necessarily want to buy something that you may not wear again? Mama Rentals is an amazing Australian outfit hire option for photoshoots.

    Whether you choose to get your hair / make up done is completely up to you, however I do find that mumma’s who invest a little bit in themselves, tend to feel more confident in front of the camera. And how you feel is what it’s all about at the end of the day!

    It’s also a good excuse to find 45 minutes to escape and be pampered! Need some recommendations? I can help with that too!

  • Let’s face it, we live in Tassie and the weather can be unpredictable sometimes! In the case of severe weather conditions, we will reschedule your session to a mutually agreed time free of charge. If the forecast looks uncertain we’ll touch base leading up to the shoot and decide how to move forward. However, please keep an open mind, things can often change quickly and the weather definitely doesn’t need to be perfect to get some great shots.

    If you’re sick, that’s a different story. It’s important to be responsible when it comes to minimising the spread of germs (any germs, not just COVID-19). If you or any member of your party is too sick to attend, please notify me as soon as is practical and we’ll reschedule - and I will do the same!

  • All my sessions are $150. This includes your session, a personalised planning appointment, image editing in my signature style, a slideshow preview of your images and complimentary order delivery.

    Please note, this session fee does not include any digital images and is separate from my packages and products.
