I’ve had a lot of mums say to me that they wish they had captured more images of themselves while they were pregnant. This is an incredible time and, while you might not always feel it, you deserve images that capture how amazingly beautiful you are!

A Hobart maternity session is a wonderful chance slow down and connect with your little one and create some beautiful images to share with them in years to come.

My maternity sessions aren’t overly posed or structured, but rather an opportunity to celebrate one of the most exciting times of your life.

No matter what your pregnancy journey looks like, how your baby came to be, or who you’re sharing this journey with, you are creating new life.

YOUR HOBART MATERNITY SESSION, YOUR WAY

My maternity photography sessions are however you want them to be and can be held at almost any time of the day, in a variety of Hobart locations.

Dramatic sunset photos on the beach? Relaxed and natural photos at your home? Rustic photos at one of my long grass locations? The choice is yours!

A $150 session fee is required to secure your booking. You don’t need to pay anything else until you’ve seen your images and absolutely love them! Interested in booking a combined maternity and newborn package? Please reach out for more information and a special Bump to Bub offer!

Once your session is confirmed, we’ll arrange a time to catch up for a Planning Appointment to select a location, discuss wardrobe choices and work out where in your home you plan to display your artwork.

Within 72 hours of your photoshoot, your best images will be viewable via an online gallery. From here you will select your favourite images and choose and pay for your preferred collection and/or heirloom artwork.

Single wall artwork starts at $595 and wall art collections from $1,295. My popular Print and Digital Collections start at $495 for 5 high resolution digital files.

Maternity sessions are best booked between 32-36 weeks, when your belly is nice and full, but you’re not completely over it yet.

Not your first pregnancy? Siblings, partners and fur babies are all welcome, or you can go solo for an intimate one-on-one session to celebrate you and your body.

I work with you to create a session that will make you feel amazing, it can be held outdoors at your favourite beach during golden hour or in home - wherever you feel comfortable and relaxed!

As a maternity photographer in Hobart, I look after everything from planning your session and providing a relaxed and enjoyable portrait experience, to organising your artwork and delivering it to your door!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Maternity sessions are best booked between 32-36 weeks, when your belly is nice and full, but you’re not completely over it yet haha!

  • Everyone! This is an exciting time for the whole family, so partners, older siblings and fur babies are all welcome and encouraged to attend the session.

  • We’re very lucky to have so many great locations to choose from here in Tassie! If you’re having an outdoor session, I have a number of favourite spots that vary in style and location and I work with you to select someone that resonates with you.

    If you have a special spot in mind, I will always try to accommodate that and am happy to travel (additional travel expenses may apply).

    If the session is to take place in your home, together we can select a couple of rooms that have nice large windows and plenty of natural light.

  • Outdoor sessions are typically held in the hour or so around sunrise or before sunset. During this time the light is softer, more flattering and has a golden glow - hence the name ‘golden hour’. Obviously, this time varies from season to season and over the Summer months this can mean an earlier or later start time.

    In home sessions are usually held mid-morning, but I will work around you and your schedule.

  • Once your booking is confirmed, you will be given access to the Client Section. Here you will find helpful information on how to prepare for your session and wardrobe / styling recommendations.

    As a general rule, plain and simple works best, with clothes that show off your beautiful bump.

    If you need a new outfit, but don’t necessarily want to buy something that you may not wear again? Mama Rentals is an amazing Australian outfit hire option for photoshoots.

    For partners, anything that compliments you is perfect – keep it simple and steer clear of any large checks, spots, stripes or logos.

    Whether you choose to get your hair / make up done is completely up to you, however I do find that mumma’s who invest a little bit in themselves, tend to feel more confident in front of the camera. And how you feel is what it’s all about at the end of the day!

    It’s also a good excuse to find 45 minutes to escape and be pampered! Need some recommendations? I can help with that too!

  • Let’s face it, we live in Tassie and the weather can be unpredictable sometimes! In the case of severe weather conditions, we will reschedule your session to a mutually agreed time free of charge. If the forecast looks uncertain we’ll touch base leading up to the shoot and decide how to move forward. However, please keep an open mind, things can often change quickly and the weather definitely doesn’t need to be perfect to get some great shots.

    If you’re sick, that’s a different story. It’s important to be responsible when it comes to minimising the spread of germs (any germs, not just COVID-19). If you or any member of your party is too sick to attend, please notify me as soon as is practical and we’ll reschedule - and I will do the same!

  • All my sessions are $150. This includes your session, a personalised planning appointment, image editing in my signature style, a slideshow preview of your images and complimentary order delivery.

    Please note, this session fee does not include any digital images and is separate from my packages and products.

    Most families invest between $795-$1795 and interest free payment plans using PayRight are available to make purchasing your beautiful portraits easy.
