We’re very lucky to have so many great locations to choose from here in Hobart.

If you’re having an outdoor session, I have a number of favourite spots that vary in style and location. I work with you to select someone that resonates with you.

If you have a special spot in mind, I will always try to accommodate that and am happy to travel (additional travel expenses may apply).

If the session is to take place in your home, together we can select a couple of rooms that have nice large windows and plenty of natural light.

Outdoor sessions are typically held in the hour or so around sunrise or before sunset. During this time the light is softer, more flattering and has a golden glow - hence the name ‘golden hour’. Obviously, this time varies from season to season and over the Summer months this can mean an earlier or later start time.

Understandably, this may be challenging for some, especially those with little kiddos, however hopefully the option of either sunrise or sunset will suit your family’s schedule. Trust me, one late bedtime will definitely be worth it!

In home sessions are usually held mid-morning, but I will work around you and your schedule.

Let’s face it, we live in Hobart and the weather can be unpredictable sometimes!

In the case of severe weather conditions, we will reschedule your session to a mutually agreed time free of charge. If the forecast looks uncertain we’ll touch base leading up to the shoot and decide how to move forward. However, please keep an open mind, things can often change quickly and the weather definitely doesn’t need to be perfect to get some great shots.

If you’re sick, that’s a different story. It’s important to be responsible when it comes to minimising the spread of germs (any germs, not just COVID-19). If you or any member of your party is too sick to attend, please notify me as soon as is practical and we’ll reschedule - and I will do the same.

A lot of my clients put off booking because they’re worried that their children will ‘misbehaving’ during our session. My response is always the same. Please don’t worry about it!

Kids are kids - they have thoughts and feelings of their own. Sometimes they have bad days, get a bit excited, show off or get overwhelmed. I’m not going to judge you or them and will be able to capture beautiful photos regardless.

I really believe a session should capture the essence of your family, as it is, right now. One day they won’t be so crazy and you’ll probably miss it, so wouldn’t be amazing if you had some beautiful photos to remember this time by?

Whether you choose to get your hair / make up done is completely up to you, however I think it’s important to look ‘like you’ in the photos.

But if you’d like an excuse for some pamper time, this is definitely it!

Agnes Sligh Turnbull once said, “A dog’s life is too short. Their only fault really”, and this is so true.

Fur babies are an important part of the family and should be included in your session if you wish.

Personally, our dogs mean the world to my partner and I, and we’re thankful to have beautiful photos to remember them by in years to come.
