They may feel ordinary now, but one day you'll realise they were everything.
Motherhood is beautiful, but let's be honest, it can also be exhausting, messy and wonderfully chaotic. Days blur into weeks, and before you know it, your children have outgrown another season (and let’s face it, so have you).
That's why these Motherhood Moment sessions. They aren't about creating perfect photographs, they're about pressing pause for just a little while and celebrating the relationship you share with your children, exactly as it is today.

As mums, we're so often the ones behind the camera, making sure everyone else's story is remembered. But your children won't care whether your hair was perfect or whether you were wearing your favourite outfit. One day, they'll simply be grateful they have photographs of you together - photographs that remind them how you looked at them, how you held them, how you laughed together and how deeply they were loved.
That's what these sessions are all about.
Every family has their own little rituals. Maybe it's wandering barefoot along one of Hobart's beautiful beaches collecting shells, baking together in the kitchen, stopping for a babycino at your favourite café, reading stories in bed, or going to the park for a bike ride.
Whether you're celebrating your baby's first birthday, marking the first day of school, spending one-on-one time with your teenager, or simply wanting to press pause and preserve this season of life, we'll create natural, timeless photographs that celebrate your connection and document the little rituals that make your family yours.

Motherhood Sessions are intentionally designed to create space for genuine connection between you and your children. They're best suited to mums with one or two children. These sessions are available throughout the year on selected weekdays and occasional weekend dates. This gives you the flexibility to book whenever you'd like to celebrate a special milestone.
Please note, a session deposit of $150 is required to secure your session date and time. This deposit is non-refundable, and bookings are not confirmed until this payment has been received. The balance of your package is due 7 days prior to your session. Once you have received your gallery, you can upgrade if you wish.
Travel within 30 km of Hobart CBD is included in your session fee. Sessions held beyond this area incur a travel fee, which will be quoted prior to booking.
Selected images are professional edited and delivered in both colour and black & white. Your print credit can be used towards any product in your online store, from professionally printed gift prints to beautiful, framed artwork for your home. Prints start from $5.

Motherhood Sessions are designed for mums and their children (4 months +).
They're best suited to one or two children. If you have a larger family or would like photographs that include your partner, I recommend booking one of my Family Sessions instead.

Outdoor sessions are typically held in the hour or so around sunrise or before sunset. During this time the light is softer, more flattering and has a golden glow - hence the name ‘golden hour’. Obviously, this time varies from season to season and over the Summer months this can mean an earlier or later start time.
Understandably, this may be challenging for some, especially those with little kiddos, however hopefully the option of either sunrise or sunset will suit your family’s schedule. Trust me, one late bedtime will definitely be worth it!
In home sessions are usually held mid-morning, but I will work around you and your schedule.

Let’s face it, we live in Hobart and the weather can be unpredictable sometimes!
In the case of severe weather conditions, we will reschedule your session to a mutually agreed time free of charge. If the forecast looks uncertain we’ll touch base leading up to the shoot and decide how to move forward. However, please keep an open mind, things can often change quickly and the weather definitely doesn’t need to be perfect to get some great shots.
If you’re sick, that’s a different story. It’s important to be responsible when it comes to minimising the spread of germs (any germs, not just COVID-19). If you or any member of your party is too sick to attend, please notify me as soon as is practical and we’ll reschedule - and I will do the same.

A lot of my clients put off booking because they’re worried that their children will ‘misbehaving’ during our session. My response is always the same. Please don’t worry about it!
Kids are kids - they have thoughts and feelings of their own. Sometimes they have bad days, get a bit excited, show off or get overwhelmed. I’m not going to judge you or them and will be able to capture beautiful photos regardless.
I really believe a session should capture the essence of your family, as it is, right now. One day they won’t be so crazy and you’ll probably miss it, so wouldn’t be amazing if you had some beautiful photos to remember this time by?

Whether you choose to get your hair / make up done is completely up to you, however I think it’s important to look ‘like you’ in the photos.
But if you’d like an excuse for some pamper time, this is definitely it!

Agnes Sligh Turnbull once said, “A dog’s life is too short. Their only fault really”, and this is so true.
Fur babies are an important part of the family and should be included in your session if you wish.
Personally, our dogs mean the world to my partner and I, and we’re thankful to have beautiful photos to remember them by in years to come.
