It won’t happen overnight, but one day, you'll struggle to remember exactly when they stopped being your tiny newborn.
You'll simply realise they've outgrown those impossibly tiny onesies, the newborn stretches have disappeared, and they're sitting on their own with a cheeky grin that melts your heart.
Between six and eight months is one of my favourite ages to photograph.
Their personalities are beginning to shine. They laugh so freely, discover their little toes, reach for your face and still adore being wrapped up in your arms.
It's a season that's often overlooked, yet it's one of the sweetest chapters of your baby's first year.
As one of my maternity or newborn families, I'd love to welcome you back to document this beautiful stage before it quietly slips away.

Why between six to eight months? There is something incredibly special about this age.
They're no longer the sleepy newborn you brought home from hospital, but they're not yet running off in every direction. Instead, they're wonderfully curious and happy.
They flash big gummy smiles (or maybe their first tooth), giggle at familiar faces and proudly sit on their own while still wanting nothing more than to snuggle into mum and dad.
It's the perfect combination for natural, joy-filled photographs.
These sessions celebrate all the little details you'll one day miss - the chubby wrists, fluffy hair, tiny fingers, curious expressions and the way they look at you as though you're their whole world.
Like all of my sessions, Milestone Sessions are completely baby-led. We'll slow down, follow your baby's lead and create space for cuddles, feeds and plenty of play along the way.
Whether your little one is sitting confidently, rolling around or happiest in your arms, we'll capture this season exactly as it is. Parents and siblings are always encouraged too, because these photographs aren't just about your baby. They're about your family.

Please note, a session deposit of $150 is required to secure your session date and time. This deposit is non-refundable, and bookings are not confirmed until this payment has been received.
Travel within 30 minutes of Hobart CBD is included as standard with all packages. Additional travel fees will apply to locations beyond that.
The balance of your package is due 7 days prior to your session. Once you have received your gallery, you can upgrade if you wish.
Selected images are professional edited and delivered in both colour and black & white. Your print credit can be used towards any product in your online store, from professionally printed gift prints to beautiful, framed artwork for your home. Prints start from $5.

The ideal time is when your baby is sitting confidently but isn't yet confidently crawling away.
For most babies, this is somewhere between six and eight months.

Milestone sessions are available on weekdays only.
Outdoor session start times will vary depending on the time of year and location you’ve selected.
We’re very lucky to have so many great locations to choose from here in Hobart.
If you’re having an outdoor session, I have a number of favourite spots that vary in style and location. I work with you to select someone that resonates with you.
If you have a special spot in mind, I will always try to accommodate that and am happy to travel (additional travel expenses may apply).
If the session is to take place in your home, together we can select a couple of rooms that have nice large windows and plenty of natural light.

Of course - while your baby is the star of the session, I always capture lots of family/sibling photos as well! These moments become even more meaningful when your whole family is part of the story.

Let’s face it, we live in Hobart and the weather can be unpredictable sometimes!
In the case of severe weather conditions, we will reschedule your session to a mutually agreed time free of charge. If the forecast looks uncertain we’ll touch base leading up to the shoot and decide how to move forward. However, please keep an open mind, things can often change quickly and the weather definitely doesn’t need to be perfect to get some great shots.
If you’re sick, that’s a different story. It’s important to be responsible when it comes to minimising the spread of germs (any germs, not just COVID-19). If you or any member of your party is too sick to attend, please notify me as soon as is practical and we’ll reschedule - and I will do the same.

If you need a new outfit, but don’t necessarily want to buy something that you may not wear again? I have a client closet full of pre and postpartum friendly outfits.

Whether you choose to get your hair / make up done is completely up to you, however I think it’s important to look ‘like you’ in the photos.
But if you’d like an excuse for some pamper time, this is definitely it!

Agnes Sligh Turnbull once said, “A dog’s life is too short. Their only fault really”, and this is so true.
Fur babies are an important part of the family and should be included in your session if you wish.
Personally, our dogs mean the world to my partner and I, and we’re thankful to have beautiful photos to remember them by in years to come.
It would be an honour to capture the unique and special bond your family has with your dog!
