The kind of simple summer afternoons you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.
I've got a little bucket list of family sessions I've been wanting to photograph, and I'm looking for five families to help me tick them off!
Because family photos don't always have to mean dressing everyone up, finding the perfect location and asking the kids to smile at the camera.
Sometimes, they can just mean doing something you were going to do anyway. Making a little adventure out of an ordinary afternoon, enjoying time together and having someone there to capture it all.
And if you've been meaning to book family photos but the thought of squeezing them in before Christmas feels overwhelming, why not make it one of your school holiday activities instead?
SUMMER FAMILY ADVENTURES I’D LOVE TO PHOTOGRAPH
Ice creams by the waterfront - wander around the Hobart waterfront, grab an ice cream and watch the boats go by. Simple, relaxed and quintessentially Hobart.
Fish and chips and cricket at the beach - sandy toes, salty hair, chips shared from the paper and a little time playing cricket by the water. What's not to love?
An evening at the skate park - bring the scooters, bikes or skateboards and let the kids show off their latest tricks. Perfect for families with older children who might not be so keen on a traditional photoshoot.
A summer picnic and a play - pack some snacks, bring a soccer ball or a book, and spend an afternoon together at one of your favourite parks.
These are a few ideas I've been dreaming up, but they're just the beginning! If your family has another activity you love doing together, I'd love to hear about it. As long as it fits the relaxed, activity-based feel of the campaign, we might just be able to make it happen.
All sessions will take place at suitable locations within 30 km of Hobart.
WHY ACTIVITY-BASED SESSIONS JUST WORK
Great for older kids (and camera-shy dads!) - having something fun to do takes the pressure off being in front of the camera. Everyone has something to focus on, making it easier to relax, get involved and enjoy the experience together.
Less posing, more doing - Forget worrying about where to put your hands or whether the kids are smiling properly. We'll spend our time enjoying the activity, with plenty of opportunities for natural moments as they unfold, alongside those classic family portraits you'll want to frame.
A school holiday activity with something to keep forever - you're already looking for things to do with the kids during the summer holidays, so why not make one of those outings a little more special? It's a chance to spend time together and come away with photographs that tell the story of your family right now.
Summer evenings without the rush - with the school holidays in full swing and the sun setting later, we can plan a relaxed evening session that gives you time to finish work, get organised and head out together. No early school morning to worry about the next day!

I'm offering these sessions at a special price of $500 (usually $650, save $150) for January 2027.
Your full family session includes:

These are full family sessions, not mini sessions. There's time to settle in, enjoy the experience and capture a lovely mix of genuine moments and classic family portraits.
Sessions are available Monday to Friday throughout January 2027, at suitable locations within 30 km of Hobart.
I'm initially opening five sessions at this special price, so if you've been thinking about booking family photos, this is a lovely opportunity to do something a little different.
The special $500 offer is available for the first five confirmed bookings for full family sessions taking place Monday to Friday during January 2027. The offer includes the same inclusions as my regular $650 family session package, including 10 edited digital images. Standard image upgrade pricing applies. Sessions must take place at suitable locations within 30 km of Hobart and are subject to availability. Any additional costs associated with the chosen activity, including food, drinks, ice creams and entry fees, are the client's responsibility. A booking fee is required to secure your session. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions.

These are full family photography sessions built around doing something fun together. Rather than a traditional photoshoot, we'll plan an activity your family enjoys and I'll capture the little moments, genuine interactions and classic family portraits along the way.

Not at all! The four ideas are simply activities I'd love to photograph. If your family has another favourite activity or summer tradition, I'd love to hear about it. We'll work together to find something that suits your family and fits the relaxed, activity-based feel of the session.

A travel fee will apply for locations more than 30 km from Hobart. Just let me know where you're thinking when you enquire, and I'll confirm any additional costs.

Because these sessions involve outdoor activities, the weather can sometimes affect our plans. If conditions aren't suitable, we'll discuss the options, which may include adjusting the time or rescheduling, depending on availability and the circumstances.
